The support provided to our group makes it possible to offer regular adaptive fitness classes in Brunswick and St. Simons Island GA. Our members and their care partners gather together to fight back against the daily symptoms and the known path of this disease. Get StartedThe Glynn County Parkinson’s Disease Support Organization was organized in December of 2021. Our mission is to provide support, resources, community, and a voice for those with Parkinson's Disease, their caregivers and family, in Glynn County, GA and surrounding communities.
Our regular monthly meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of each month. Drive to the rear of the main church building to the “Thorpe Building”. Parking and a handicap accessible entry is available in front of that building.

Parkinson's disease affects approximately 1% of the population at any given time. This prevalence increases with age, reaching about 1% among those over 60. In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that about 1% of the population aged 60 and older has been diagnosed with Parkinson's. Glynn County's population is on par with the US statistics with approximately 700 people impacted or .83% of the population. GCPSGO membership is approximately 245 patients impacted, as well as their designated caregiver team and associated family members.
